Australian figurative and still life artist Diana Watson has been painting for more than 20 years, her collections showcased across 40 solo and 26 select group exhibitions in Australia, Italy and the USA.
Watson’s work is held in numerous private and corporate collections throughout Australia as well as in Dubai, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom and USA. Recently, her paintings have been selected to appear in Hollywood film Collateral Beauty.
Raised on a picturesque horse stud in Perth, WA, Watson moved to Sydney with her husband Bill in 2000 to be closer to her daughters. A commercial art and fine art graduate, Watson worked as a fashion artist before welcoming her first child and putting her career on hold to concentrate on motherhood. She became a professional artist after her three daughters left home. Now, hardly a day goes by without the remarkably disciplined, and driven, Watson lifting a brush.
“I tend to paint every day, on and off, from 9am until 4:30pm. Every moment is an observation of form and colour. Something to study continually and then as a result, pass these images on to others to enjoy.”
