Tactile Sensitivity and Intuition
Hermentaire is inspired by the works of Vera Szekely… “Her work inspires me. Her approach to materials, her subtle dialogue between forms and textures, and her way of exploring the balance between strength and lightness resonate with my own practice. Her journey, marked by great freedom and a tactile sensitivity, reminds me of the importance of intuition and gesture in creation. Through her sculptures and textiles, she managed to give a voice to silent materials, making them vibrate with poetry. Her work also moves me through its ability to awaken the imagination, to invite dreams and contemplation—an approach I pursue in my own painting.” In both her paintings and sculptures, Hermentaire seeks to channel the unspoken and the intuitive, echoing Szekely’s philosophy of creating with freedom and emotion.
