Threads of Inspiration and Family Legacy
Eduardo Santos is quick to mention Cecily Brown as a major influence. “I love her work. Her mastery of movement and colour is an endless source of inspiration,” he shares. “I could look at her work all day.” Santos admires Brown’s dynamic brushwork, which fuels his own creative process and highlights the importance of movement in art. Reflecting on his roots, Santos finds his greatest influence closer to home. “My grandmother! She was an excellent dressmaker and taught me how to sew,” he recalls. “But more than anything, she allowed me to dream and told me I could be anything.” Her encouragement and craftsmanship instilled both technical skills and the power of imagination in his artistic journey.
