This June Hilary Herrmann will be exhibiting a series of new paintings at Tweed Regional Gallery. Entitled Keepsakes, the exhibition is an intimate reflection on the memories and stories that shaped the artist’s past. After sifting through piles of forgotten photographs hidden in her home, Hilary was able to reconnect with misty memories. “There’s no one left to ask, no one to tell me [about these photographs,” explains the artist. Instead, Hilary began a visual conversation where gaps were filled by her imagination. The paintings within this series are an attempt to engage with the past, honoring memories as keepsakes. The exhibition will be on display from 2nd June until 27th August 2023.
