A custom commission by Morgan Shimeld has recently been unveiled at the exquisite new Sarah and Sebastian store in Sydney’s luxurious Strand Arcade. The new store takes inspiration from modernist works of art, embracing an aesthetic that is both minimalist and monolithic. Morgan’s bronze stools, which are finished in a honey patina, add an element of warmth and softness to an otherwise sleek and linear interior. Designed by George Livissianis, the store strikes an engaging contrast between the Victorian architecture of the heritage-listed Strand Arcade. Sarah and Sebastian said that the acquisition adds “contrast to the monochromatic gradient colour palette are Morgan Shimeld's custom-designed sculpture-like stools, crafted in solid bronze and hand-finished patina.” Here, Morgan’s work is right at home amongst precious jewels and metals.
