Emma Itzstein has been announced as a finalist in the Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award. Her work Waterhole 4 depicts a lush and verdant oasis. Using mixed media, Emma creates thick and gestural brushstrokes that echo the energy and textures of landscape. With a first prize of $20,000, the Lethbridge Art Award is open to national and international artists for small-scale artworks. Judging is based on three equally evaluated criteria of creativity, originality, and skill.
An exhibition of the finalists work will be on display at Lethbridge Gallery from 17 June until 27 June 2023. The winner of the Lethbridge Prize will be announced on the 24 June, 2023.
