Cam Summers emotive works are steeped in experience, environment and belief which demands an involvement to understand. Summers' process is intentional yet unpredictable, as ideas surface naturally invoked by a commitment to writing. Raw charcoal echoes these impulsive words, transporting written thoughts into the visual as paint embodies atmosphere and figures reflect the physical. He bestows an intimacy with his paintings, as time is surrendered to each work where control and resignation undulate. This playful practice is presented in moments of chaos and calm, as figures are found within imagined spaces, themselves and one another.
