Otomys is proud to present Vantage Point - a group exhibition bringing together seven artists in Paddington, Sydney from 15 - 25 October 2026.
Seven artists, seven vantage points, one room - close enough to compare, distinct enough to hold their own. Vantage Point is the second exhibition in the Otomys In Residence programme, following Still Point at Villa Alba Museum in 2025.
152 - 154 Jersey Road, Paddington, Sydney, 2021

OTOMYS: What was your intention behind the work in Vantage Point?
Madisyn Zabel: My intention behind these works is to involve the viewer as an active participant, encouraging engagement with the pieces as they change in response to natural light throughout the day. I want viewers to move around each piece, noticing the shifting and blending of colours, and to revisit the works at different times to see how changes in natural light continue to interact with them.
OTOMYS: Have you noticed any subtle shifts in your practice since Still Point compared to now with, Vantage Point?
Madisyn Zabel: One subtle shift in this body of work is my experimentation with translucent interference and pearlescent pigments, allowing me to explore more nuanced colour changes and blending within each glass piece alongside my ongoing exploration of colour in glass.
OTOMYS: What does Vantage Point mean to you now, and how has your thinking around it developed?
Madisyn Zabel: Vantage Point means the position of the viewer in relation to my work. Throughout the process of making these pieces, and within my practice more broadly, I have come to realise how important the viewer and their active engagement are. By viewing the work from multiple vantage points, the pieces truly activate and change, creating a sense of intrigue and wonder. This interaction between the viewer, the work, and their changing perspective is what Vantage Point means to me.
