'A Matter of Perspective: Why Contemporary Art Needs More Projects Like Otomys’ Vantage Point.' As featured in Vault, Australasian Art & Culture Magazine
Writing for Vault, Devon Campbell has featured Otomys’ Vantage Point, the second exhibition in the gallery’s In Residence programme. Bringing together seven artists in a Paddington house from 15 to 25 October 2026, the exhibition is presented as an example of why contemporary art benefits from more projects that invest in artists beyond simply showing their work.
The piece looks at how the exhibition makes room for difference. Meg Walters, Helen Redmond, Frances van Hasselt, Greg Wood, Caroline Collom, Hermentaire and Madisyn Zabel each keep their own sensibility, while the shared domestic setting invites new relationships between the works. Campbell considers how the title itself frames the show, with a vantage point belonging to the artist, the viewer and the gallery alike.
Vantage Point closes this Sunday, 25 October 2026 Friday | 10.30am - 5.30pm Saturday - Sunday | 11am - 4.30pm
