Julia Roche has been selected as a finalist in the 2023 National Contemporary Watercolour Prize for her painting Mungo at Night. Created 'en plein air' during a trip to Mungo National Park in south-western New South Wales, the paintings draws inspiration from the shapes and colours of the land during both night and day. Painted with gauche on card, the work captures the energy and diversity of this unique landscape. An exhibition of the finalists will be on display at Wollongong Art Gallery until 17th March 2024.
