Limited Release by Caroline Cornelius

Art
Caroline Cornelius is a British artist based in London, and a postgraduate of The Royal Drawing School. Exploring intimate figuration, she draws on personal memory to make paintings of quiet psychological depth - centred on the female form, the duality of ageing, and the fragility and fleetingness of life.

Her subjects inhabit familiar places held in memory: London gardens, domestic settings, boats on still water. They appear hazy and not fully realised, as if half-remembered. Within these spaces, Cornelius reflects on maternal relationships, solitude and the way the past shapes the present.

Her figuration is a form of storytelling - not linear, but accumulative, meaning building through atmosphere, gesture and the emotional weight of lived experience.
